Great to see everyone out in the sun and enjoying the fast courses at Evergreen Valley College. A super mix of experienced and newer competitors. Everyone I spoke to had a great time. One of the wonderful things about being the Event Director is seeing how the whole Club and all the volunteers pull together to make days like this happen so smoothly. And in doing so, bring so much joy and value to the membership. We should all be very appreciative of everyone involved!
First and foremost, a huge thank you to Werner Haag who undertook all the course setting, vetting, printing, and map corrections (and fake boulder production!). Werner made great use of the interesting campus architecture and the surrounding parkland. (The Club goal is to remap the campus more thoroughly for events here in the future.)
Second of all, a huge thank you to Phil Lacroute and John Blakken on E-punch. Both Phil and John are relatively new to E-punch, and they handled everything superbly. Thanks also to Jeff Lanam for helping digitally from afar, and Rex Winterbottom for being on standby as needed.
The registration crew of Sarah Williams, Steve Haas, Kat Lan, Emily Ellsworth, Dennis Wildfogel, assisted by George Minarik, kept the competitors flowing in freely. Julia Doubson and Nick Corsano held beginner clinics. Julia also took the last shift at starts, taking over from Scott Aster, who had taken over from Valencia Li and Werner. Valencia, Werner, and James Arthurton all handled assembly setup and teardown, too — and assisted with refreshments.
Control (and fake boulder!) pickup was swiftly handled by Werner, Scott Aster, Steve Haas, Tapio Karras, and Nick Corsano. With Steve Haas and Chuck Spalding handling the equipment transfer for the next meet. Chuck, as ever, was also instrumental in all the website updates, and Tapio will be managing the RouteGadget uploads. Sincere apologies if I missed anyone from this list, please let me have any corrections.

2025 Summer Series Results
Unlike The Tahoe events, I'm thankful the scoring here was very straightforward! The courses yielded a great mix of ages and genders at the top of the tables. There is still all to run for as we go into the last event of the Summer Series (and the stage is set for a possible, and exceedingly rare, tie for the winner of the Short competition!). Lots of churn throughout both tables as the "best four scores" rule really starts to kick in now.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the seventh and last event of the Series, which will be at Bedwell Bayfront Park (in Menlo Park) on August 24th. Details are here.
