What a good day for a "come try it" National Orienteering Day event. Gray drippy skies turned to blue later in the day, with great views and wonderful people.
We had 287 participants, including new attendees just in from Brazil, ROTC, scouts, wheelchair disabled, and the "usual suspects". Everyone, first timers or other, had a good time. Congratulations to the winners: Wayne Caplinger (White course), Andrea Shepard (Yellow), Tony Pinkham (Orange), and Steve Gregg (Long Orange).

Some course comments:
- As course setter, I misplaced the control that was Yellow #2 and Orange #12. Actually, I placed it correctly (i.e., per my intention and the control description), but I placed the circle incorrectly on the map. I'm sorry for the extra time and frustration that the error may have caused. Everyone was given credit for the control.
- As you know, I have been stressing course courtesy, especially by respecting property rights of residents. All of the participants behaved well. In the future this will be even more important as density increases and open space becomes compromised.
